Start in the south and move north. Kinsale is a far better introduction to the Wild Atlantic Way than simply using Cork as a motorway launch point.
Morning
Arrive in Cork, collect the car and head toward Kinsale. Walk the harbour, explore the compact town centre and give yourself time for lunch before driving on.
Afternoon
Continue along the coast toward Old Head and the western side of County Cork. Keep the route flexible and avoid trying to collect every headland on day one.
Evening
Stay in Kinsale or Clonakilty and make the first evening about food and atmosphere rather than another attraction.
